Sheffield Ultimate

Disc Golf

A team of Sheffield Frisbee players are in the process of making the local Disc Golf scene more official, and plan to plot courses in a number of Sheffield's parks.  You'll be able to find all the information on this website, along with leaderboards and course records.

As of 14th April 2010, one of these courses has been plotted and mapped.  This is a 12-hole course in Weston Park and you can see the course map here.

Groups and individuals will be able to play the courses at any time, and submit their scores via a simple online form.

Sheffield Disc Golf Rules

Although we don't take Disc Golf too seriously in Sheffield, we do have a small set of basic course rules:

General

-  All courses are to be played with a standard 175g Ultimate disc

-  When playing a shot, you shoudl pivot from where your previous shot ended (i.e. where the disc stopped moving)

-  Following a foul, you should play your shot from where the disc went off the 'fairway' (e.g. the point where it went onto the pavement or into the flower bed)

Penalties

-  Pavements, flower beds and water incur a one-shot penalty

-  Buildings (inc. the War Memorial) incur a two-shot penalty

-  Benches, fences and railings (such as those around the weather station) do not incur a penalty

-  Tree beds do not incur a penalty

-  You cannot 'double-foul' (i.e. hitting the pavement and rolling into a flower bed is only a one-shot penalty)

Water Hazards

-  Playing across the lake is optional (but encouraged)

-  The flower beds and stones around the lake DO NOT incur a penalty

-  Bridges incur a one-shot penalty as per pavements, but the railings do not incur a foul (as above)

-  If you foul twice by hitting the water, you have the option to bypass the lake and take an additional two-point penalty
