Student Ultimate in Sheffield

Varsity 2008

There are two student teams in Sheffield, competing at University-level events and, against each other, at the annual Sheffield Varsity.

Phat 'eds has represented the University of Sheffield for fifteen years whilst Hallam Ultimate, representing Sheffield Hallam University, was established far more recently. 

In 2006, Ultimate became recognised by British Universities and Colleges Sport (formerly BUSA).  Under BUCS rules, players are not allowed to represent another educational institution.  This has lead to a number of new teams, like Hallam, forming to compete on the University circuit.
